Chapters 21-25

Anita and Phillip are driving back from Rebecca's house and he brings up Monica and asks why Anita hates her so much. Anita explains that it is because Monica is a human and she brought Catherine and Anita who are both humans into the club so non-humans(vampires) could harm them. He tells her that Monica is afraid of her and Anits somewhat smiles as if she is content and chuckles at it. Then they begin to talk more serious and talk about why Phillip stopped going to the "freak parties" and Phillip gets somewhat uneasy at this question and says that it is because he got tried of getting passed around and how he did not want to end up like the girl they had just met with;Rebecca. When he goes to get out of the car he tells her that there is going to be a freak party tonight and he will let her know of the location and they can go together. Before he gets out of the car he asks her if she would really cut out Monica's heart? and she responds with a very serious yes. He also tells her to make sure she wears something revealing that shows off her scars. After he leave she decided she wants to talk to someone who would be able to tell her more about hte vampire murders but many vampires wouldn't be awake during the daytime. She decides to go to Dead Dave's place which is like a bar in the District even though she knows Dave will be asleep in his coffin. When she gets there she sees Luther who also works at Daves who is a human he tells her all he can that he knows about vampires and he tells her that she shouldnt trust Phillip because even though he is not a vampire he is still a vampire-junkie and he's just messed up. He also tells her that he is so messed up because he heard when Phillip was small Valentine had jumped him as well as "molested him" before Phillip was even twelve! Anita tells him how she knows Valentine because they had gotten into it one time and he is the one responsible for the scars on her and she is responsible for the mutation on his face because she threw holy water on him. She tells him how she is working on a warrant for his arresst/death and then someone calls the bar for her and it's Ronnie saying that she thinks the Humans against Vampires (HAV) headquarters could have something to do with the the vampire murders. After she goes shopping to get something to wear to the freak party that night and she sees her neighbor and she says that she saw Anitas "boyfriend" going into her apartment earlier that day, Anita has no idea what she is talking about but pretends to go along with it as if she knows just who it was. She goes up to her apartment gun in hand worried about what or who she is going to see staring back at her. When she opens up the door she realizes no one is in there thwen she sees a gun on her counter which Edward dropped off for her and she stopped being so scared. After she gets dressed and puts her silver crucifix on and weapons ready and with her she goes to leave to pick up Phillip from Guilty Pleasures and go to the freak party. On the way there Phillip somewhat attempts to seduce Anita but Anita refuses and it gets kind of akward. They show up to the party and the hostess who is pretty much naked greets them and Phillip lets her know that Anita is "his" (because they are pretending to be lovers) and no one else is to touch her. As they are at the party they meet people many who try to "hook up" with each of them and then some girl Crystal walks in and when Phillip sees her he is kind of shaken. Anita wonders if this heavy set slutty girl is the reason Phillip stopped going. But what is even more shocking to Anita is when she sees Edward playing kissy face with one of the women at the party. This was just getting to akward for her!
