Guilty Pleasures #1

The book I'm reading is Guilty Pleasures by Laurell K. Hamilton, until now I have never heard of her. This book is mainly about Vampires and Vampire Hunters it's not the type of book I usually read but I am trying to give it a chance. The book starts off talking about the character Willie McCoy's death and now he's a vampire. It also introduces Anita Blake who is a vampire hunter, she is also very cynical and gets irratated with things very easily. In the first cahpet of the story Willie McCoy informs Anita that four vampires had been slaughtered and had their hearts torn out as well as their heads cut off in the new vampire club district. Willie gets upset when Anita refuses to work for him and give her opinion about the deaths because she said she does not have the right to discuss police business with him. The second chapter takes place on Anita's way home from work at six o'clock in the morning when she finally gets to bed she gets a phone call at eight from Monica- a friend of Catherine calling about Catherine's bachelorette party that same night asking her to be the designated driver! boy did this tick Anita off, but she agrees just so she can get back to sleep. The chapter ends talking about how Anita dreamt of a random person a coconut cream pie and Willie McCoy's funeral.
